Residential Team Member—Night Shift
Position Announcement: Jasper Mountain residential treatment programs seeks dependable, energetic individuals who are committed to making a difference for children with special needs. Night shift residential team member sought for relief, part to full time positions. Position works as part of a team to provide overnight child supervision (15 – 20 children at a time) for two residential treatment sites (Jasper Mountain Center and SAFE Center, both located near the city limits of Springfield). Also included are housekeeping duties, and various tasks helping to create a safe and homelike environment, such as the following:
- Monitor children as they sleep and be prepared to respond to needs or intervene as needed.
- Perform household duties such as cooking, cleaning and laundry.
- Assist program by preparing materials or wrapping presents for special events, holidays, as directed.
- Document the shift on forms.
- Other duties as assigned.
- After daily tasks are done, it is okay to study quietly!
Physical Requirements: It is important that employees in this position be in good physical condition, as they must be able to climb stairs quickly if needed, lift laundry baskets, lift a bucket of water, wash dishes, vacuum, and perform various other housekeeping duties. In addition, Night Shift staff members are trained by the agency in proper methods of physically containing a child if a safety issue occurs (Crisis Prevention Institute Training).
Hours: Shifts run 9:30 P.M. – 7:30 A.M. (for work at Jasper Mountain Center), and 9:45 P.M. – 7:45 A.M. (for work at SAFE Center).
Compensation: Exact rate depends upon experience and education. Range begins at $11.45/hr. Agency pays an additional .25/hour for weekend shifts. Benefit package applies for regularly scheduled positions.
