Summer Internship
A summer internship at Geffen Mesher is designed to give you a head start in your career as a public accountant. Not only will you gain technical experience, but you will be provided with the mentoring and coaching critical to building a successful career path. Not sure which direction to take yet? At Geffen Mesher that's not a problem. During our internship you will be exposed to both tax and audit work. After 2 weeks of training you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of engagements across tax and audit. In fact, our goal of the program is to give you the most accurate idea of what working with us as a staff accountant is like. Throughout the program you will participate in additional staff training and be provided with coaching and mentoring in the areas of networking and professional development.
And since the summer time is amazing in Portland, we also like to throw in some fun activities too! In fact, our internship is only 32 hours a week, Monday through Thursday, because we close the office on Fridays in the summer.

Qualifications/Eligibility:
• Accounting majors - complete junior level prior to start of internship and have completed intermediate accounting sequence
• Graduate/CPA eligible between December 2021 and August 2022
• 3.25 GPA or better
• Interest in career as a CPA
• Strong, long term interest in local and mid-sized firms
• Good working knowledge of office technology software and good written and verbal communication skills
